Mr. Sneaker and I are in Amsterdam until Wednesday. Some friends of ours have lived here for about three years now and are tying the knot on Tuesday, so we are in town for their wedding and all of the festivities. We arrived on Saturday night just in time to go our separate ways for the bachelor/bachelorette outings. I have been to very few bachelorette parties in my day, but I certainly made up for that by dancing with the ladies until about 4 AM. I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw 4 AM. Needless to say both Mr. Sneaker and I were a bit tired all day yesterday. We enjoyed a nice picnic with all the wedding guests at Beatrix Park, tossed around a football, had a hula hoop competition (I came in second with 4.5 minutes of straight hula-ing), and soaked in the sun.
Amsterdam is known for being a biking city and most people bike instead of walking or driving. We rented bikes from the hotel and I have been trying to hang with all the seasoned bikers on the roads here. There is a lot of passing and swerving which makes me feel like a total train wreck, but I do my best. Last time we visited here, I was passing and bobbing and weaving with the best of them by the time our trip was near the end, so there's hope.
Last night we saw Transformers...in the very front row...in 3D. Fun times. Aside from being super close, I liked the movie. I thought it was funny/odd that the lead girl somehow managed to change from one sexy outfit to another all the time trying to help her beau Shia save the world from the Deceptacons, but whatever...I guest the typical Transformers fan would be so focused on other parts of Rosie's anatomy therefore not noticing that she had on flats in all the action scenes which somehow morphed into sexy stilettos for all of the close up shots. Overall, I do enjoy most of the movies Mr. Sneaker drags me to. And, I heart Shia Lebouf. Do you remember him from back in the day on Even Stevens on the Disney Channel? The Disney Channel really turns out a lot of stars these days....Hilary Duff, Shia, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez...not to mention the gaggle of kids from the Mickey Mouse Club that made it big.....ok that was a major tangent.
Hubs and I are hoping to hit up the Anne Frank House today, but it's already getting close to noon and we have heard it's best to get there early because the lines get really long. We missed out last time we were here, so we will have to see if we can be more successful this time around. Later we will celebrate the 4th on a boat cruise on the canal. Happy 4th to everyone!

You are making me So jealous with all these awesome trips around Europe! Lol about dancing til 4 am. I did that in NYC two years ago for my best friend's bachelorette. Everyone was done except her, but I have a strict rule about doing whatever the bride wants on those nights (if they are a night, when people have weekend- long things and make me go out multiple nights I have less patience haha).
Have a fun 4th of July and have a great time at the wedding tomorrow!
PS. I might be moving in to your apartment in Germany so I can go on fun trips with you.
Sounds like lots of fun! Ooh....I'd like to visit the Anne Frank house one day, too.
I absolutely recommend the Anne Frank house, but it is crazy if you don't get there early. I remember us getting there around 9 a.m. when we visited.
I could not even come close to hanging with those bikers! I'm impressed you're trying. Sounds like a wonderful time and you're kicking things off right with the husband! :)
