What's Going On Here?

Two days in a row without posting...three days in a row without a workout...what is going on here?

I swear time keeps accelerating and the weeks are just flying by! Not that our crappy weather has been any indication, but summer is right around the corner! A solid week of gorgeously warm weather, filled with many opportunities to exercise outside in the sun followed by this week's grayness and rain left me un-enthused with hitting the gym this week. In a few minutes Mr. Sneaker will board a plane headed to Madrid, so I get to use the weekend to make up for my lazy week and I will definitely be getting my workout on as soon as I am done with this post. I'm thinking of doing a little Ab Ripper 200 action, followed by pilates, followed by a grand 'ol butt kicking from the Jillian with the Shred. That sounds like a lot, yet not working out all week constitutes a butt kicking on the weekend. It would be nice to get outside for a walk or something, but the sky is still looking a bit too ominous for that.

I also have a ton of reading to get accomplished this weekend and another skype session with class tomorrow night. Not to mention, the apartment is in desperate need of a good cleaning and there are piles of laundry that need washing. I feel like this afternoon will be about checking some things off the list and tonight will be all about putting my feet up in a freshly cleaned apartment, getting my read on, and hopefully finding a good chick flick to watch on the tv!

I am really excited because in the midst of my 3-6 am skype session with my class, I had a great brainstorm about what question I want to look into for my dissertation research. I do not need to decide at this point, yet I think it helps to have a solid plan when going through the coursework because a lot of the assignments end up as being parts of the final dissertation as long as they are done with the right themes/ideas in mind. I have known that I want to look into something in the area of multicultural education, but I think I now have an actual plan of sorts, which makes me happy :0)

Also, I am really excited because one of my friends back in Portland is going to have her baby today (Just in time for her very first Mother's Day!). She and her husband decided not to find out the gender of the baby, so I am anxiously waiting to find out! At first I thought it's a girl, but my friend thinks she is having a boy. Either way, I cannot wait to see the first pictures and I hope everything goes smoothly for her. She is actually being induced (even though her due date is still about 3 weeks away), so obviously I am really praying that both mama and baby are healthy. Last time she saw the doctor the baby weighed 7 pounds, so he or she is definitely big enough to come out and meet her mama and daddy!

Happy Friday everyone!
